Whether you're making a detour during a European road trip or heading to the Dolomites as your main destination, Miramonti Boutique Hotel is well worth adding to your itinerary. The hotel sits high above Merano, and getting there is part of the experience. The road up is steep with plenty of tight corners, so even in summer it requires a bit of attention behind the wheel. If you're visiting in winter, make sure your car is equipped with proper winter tires.
The nearest town, Merano, is about a 15-minute drive away if you fancy a coffee or a stroll through the shops, but once we arrived at the hotel, we didn't really feel the need to leave. Between the infinity pool, the spa, the restaurant, and the mountain views, it's the kind of place where you'll happily spend most of your time at the hotel. If you're flying in instead, Bolzano Airport is about an hour and a half away, and the hotel also offers a shuttle service.
