Luxurious Nights: Slip Silk Pillowcase, Eye Mask & Turban Reviewed

I’m 29 years old, damn it! And I want to sit in a comfortable chair, and watch television, and go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

I’ve always had a soft spot for silk. From blouses to trousers, it’s a fabric I wear all the time—nothing else feels quite the same against my skin. For the longest time, I was on the hunt for hair ties that wouldn’t tug, tangle, or leave creases. A late-night Google search led me to Slip, and that’s how I first came across their silk hair ties. They felt like the perfect solution, so I decided to give them a try.

Not long after that, I started noticing Slip pop up everywhere on TikTok. Suddenly, their pillowcases, eye masks, and turbans were all over my feed, with people swearing by them for better sleep, smoother skin, and frizz-free hair. On top of that, I’ve had trouble sleeping for as long as I can remember. So I’ve always been looking for ways to turn my nights around. The hair ties did exactly what they promised—no tugging, no creases, no tangling. And that got me thinking: if these little bands work so well, maybe their other items would too.

At that point, I couldn’t resist exploring more of their collection. One by one, I added the pillowcase, the eye mask, and eventually the turban to my nighttime routine. In this post, I’ll take you through my experience with each of these Slip silk sleep essentials—how they feel, how they fit into my routine, and whether I think they’re worth the investment.

Okay, let’s get into it! Here’s everything you need to know about Slip Silk’s sleep essentials:

Slip Slipsilk™ Sleep Masks

The Slip silk eye mask is made from their exclusive Slipsilk™, which feels soft, lightweight, and cool against your skin. The strap keeps it comfortably in place without squeezing your face, making it easy to wear all night.

It comes in lots of colors, and there are two versions: a regular one, which is what I have, and a special contour mask designed for people with eyelash extensions. I can’t speak to the contour one myself, but the regular mask is great. They even have masks with beautiful zodiac sign designs on them, which I think is such a fun idea and would make a perfect gift for a friend.

I’ve had mine for about four years now, and honestly, it’s one of those little things that makes a big difference. If you struggle with even a bit of light while trying to sleep, this is a godsend. It blocks out everything, doesn’t itch, and doesn’t move around like some other masks. The silk feels soft and fresh, and it stays comfortable all night.

Yes, it’s pricey for an eye mask, but mine has lasted for years without any rips, stretching, or problems. I still use it every night, and it’s just as comfortable as the first day I got it. Definitely recommend if you struggle with light and need an eye mask.

Slip Slipsilk™ Pillowcase

I’ve had my Slip pillowcase for about three years now, and honestly, it’s one of those little things that makes bedtime feel a bit more luxurious. It’s made from 100% pure mulberry silk, which is soft, smooth, and gentle on your skin and hair. The silk naturally reduces friction, so it helps prevent tangles and frizz, and unlike cotton, it doesn’t soak up your skincare products or hold bacteria—basically, it’s a cleaner, cooler surface to sleep on.

The pillowcase comes in different sizes, which is great. Since I live in Europe, I went for the Queen size to fit the dimensions of a “regular” European pillow. Even my boyfriend ended up getting one after trying mine—he loves it too.

I will say, I’m not 100% sure it worked miracles for my skin like they promise—I didn’t notice a huge difference—but it is definitely more comfortable. It stays cool and soft all night, doesn’t make you sweat, and I’ve had to wash it less often than other pillowcases, which is such a small but noticeable bonus. It also zips on one side, and after all this time, the zipper still works perfectly, which also shows the quality of the product, in my opinion.

Yes, it’s a bit of an investment, but after three years of daily use without any issues, I can say it’s worth it. The comfort alone makes it something I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for something soft and cool to rest your head on.

Slip Slipsilk™ Turban

The Slipsilk Turban is my latest addition to the collection. I was looking for something I could use not just for sleep but also around the house instead of hair ties. I’m someone who hates having my hair down, but because I keep it up almost all the time, I have a lot of breakage—even with silk hair ties, having your hair up 99.9% of the time will unfortunately cause some damage. So I thought maybe the turban could help.

The turban is designed to reduce friction on your hair while you sleep, helping prevent breakage and frizz. It’s double-lined with Slipsilk™ inside and out, and the elastic is covered with silk to fit a range of head sizes comfortably. It’s especially helpful for keeping hairstyles intact overnight, maintaining moisture in your hair, and waking up with strands that feel softer and more manageable.

As it was my first time wearing anything like it, it took me a few tries to figure out the easiest way to put it on. After a couple of days, I got the hang of it, and now I really like it. Like the other Slip products, it’s incredibly soft, and I’ve noticed my hair feels much smoother and less frizzy compared to just sleeping on the pillowcase alone.

I do have a pretty small head, so I was a little worried it might fall off at night. Most of the time it actually stays in place—I’d say it comes off maybe 10% of the nights I wear it. I can imagine that if you’re someone who moves around a lot while sleeping, it might slip more often.

I do have to say, for summer, even though it feels soft and cool, it was a bit too warm for me to wear at night, so I paused it for a bit. But on the nights I do use it, my hair definitely looks smoother and has no tangles. Overall, it’s a practical and luxurious addition to my haircare routine.

The Verdict on the Slip Slipsilk™ Sleep Essentials

I really like these Slip products. In my opinion, they’re high-quality and built to last a long time if you take care of them properly. Do they work miracles for your hair or skin? I’m not entirely sure—but what I do know is that they make your sleep routine feel a little more luxurious and comfortable.

For me, the biggest plus is how comfortable, soft, and cool they feel. Honestly, the coldness is the nicest thing to have in any sleepwear or sleep accessory—it makes bedtime feel instantly more refreshing. The pillowcase stays soft and cool, the sleep mask blocks out light without feeling tight, and the turban keeps your hair smoother and less frizzy.

Even after years of using them, they still feel as soft as the day I got them, which says a lot about the quality. They don’t make you sweaty, they’re easy to use, and they genuinely make getting ready for bed—or just lounging at home—feel nicer. In short, if you’re someone who loves silk, values comfort, and wants to protect your hair and skin while you sleep, these are definitely worth trying.

One more thing: How I Take Care of My Silk Sleep Essentials

So, you’ve decided to take the leap and invest in a silk sleep essential to elevate your bedtime routine—great! Now, to keep your items feeling fresh, soft, and luxurious, a little care goes a long way.

Silk needs a bit of extra love, but it’s actually very easy once you know what to do. This is my routine: I always wash my Slip items by hand in almost cold water and let them soak for about 20 minutes. After that, I lay them flat to air dry. For detergent, I use Laundress Delicate—it’s gentle, designed for silk, and keeps everything feeling as soft as the day I got it.

The good news is that silk doesn’t need washing nearly as often as cotton. I usually wash my pillowcase just once a week, whereas cotton pillowcases are recommended to be changed every two to three days. If you care for them this way, your silk sleep essentials can last for years, still feeling soft and luxurious every single night. For me, spending a few extra minutes on care is absolutely worth it when it means I can enjoy that cool, comfortable, and cozy bedtime experience again and again.
