The Regal View Review: Inside Disneyland Paris’ Newest Restaurant

Try the grey stuff it’s delicious. Don’t believe me, ask the dishes.

Dining at Disneyland Paris has definitely stepped up in recent years, especially when it comes to more elevated restaurant experiences. And with the opening of the new Frozen-themed area, there’s now another spot to add to the list: The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge.

Located right by the lake in Adventure Bay, near the new Frozen-themed area, this is the only character dining restaurant in this part of the park, with a focus on princesses in their more everyday outfits rather than the usual gowns. It gives the whole experience a slightly different feel compared to the more traditional character dining setups.

It’s also currently the only restaurant inside the park offering a full cocktail menu, which already sets it apart from most other dining options. (Not counting the frozen margaritas at Casa de Coco, of course)

I’ve dined at La Table de Lumière and La Forêt Secrète, and now here, so I was curious to see how it compares. I’m not usually a big fan of character dining (more on that later), but I wanted to try it for myself and see whether it’s worth booking… or if you’re better off sticking to one of the quicker counter-service spots instead.

You book a set three-course menu here, priced at around €100 per person, so it’s definitely on the pricier side for a park restaurant. Which makes the real question: is it actually worth it? Let’s get into it.

Note: While there is also a Regal lounge just for drinks, this review focuses mainly on the restaurant.

Here we go! Let’s determine if dining here is worth it while we cover all aspects, from the location, to the food and the atmosphere:

The Location & How to Book

How to book:

Reservations for The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge can be made through your Disneyland Paris account, either in the app or online. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, you can usually book restaurants up to 3 months in advance. If you’re not staying on property, bookings typically open about 1 month in advance.

One thing to keep in mind (because I wasn’t aware of this): if you’ve booked your stay in installments, you might not be able to book restaurants at all yet. When I first checked, it simply said there were no options available, so I assumed everything was fully booked. But once I had paid the full amount, the booking options suddenly appeared in the app and online.

This is because restaurants with a set menu like this show up as a “meal plan” in your account rather than a standard restaurant reservation—and you can only add these extras once your stay has been fully paid.

If you’re still having trouble, you can also reach out via the chat on the Disneyland Paris website. They can often help make a reservation for you.

If you prefer to be a bit more spontaneous, there’s also a separate counter for guests without reservations, so they clearly expect people to show up on the day. I visited about three weeks after opening and was expecting it to be packed, but it actually wasn’t. So while I’d still recommend booking if you can, it does seem possible to just walk in.

How to get there:

As I mentioned, The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge is located right by the lake in Adventure Bay. From the entrance of the Adventure Park, you can simply walk straight ahead, passing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on your way.

If you keep heading toward the lake, you’ll pass a stand on the right-hand side where they sell the World of Frozen Champagne flutes. Continue a little further, and you’ll see the new Tangled ride. The restaurant is located just behind it, overlooking the water.

It’s actually very easy to find once you’re in that part of the park, especially since it’s positioned right along the main walkway around the lake.

Inside the Restaurant

Once inside The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, my jaw honestly dropped at how big it is. From what I had seen online, I expected something much smaller—especially compared to La Table de Lumière, which I thought would be larger—but it’s actually the other way around.

The space itself feels very open, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the lake and the new Frozen area. The walls are covered in floor-to-ceiling paintings of the princesses, which gives it a clear theme without feeling overdone.

What I liked most about the setting is that it manages to feel warm and inviting, while still being very connected to the park. The large windows let in a lot of light and give you that “you’re part of it” feeling, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel busy or overwhelming like some other park restaurants can. It’s also genuinely spacious. Tables aren’t packed tightly together, so you’re not sitting on top of other guests, which makes a big difference if you’re planning to stay for a longer, more relaxed meal.

After exploring the dining area, we were escorted to our table, where our waiter handed us the menu. We were seated right by the window (prime spot), which immediately made a great first impression.

Now let’s move on to the menu,,,

The Menu & Food

At The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, you’re booking a set three-course menu, where you can choose between a few options for each course. There are meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan dishes available, which is always good to see. Before we dive in, it’s good to mention that I was here for lunch. The options are the same for lunch and dinner, but the experience might be different atmosphere-wise, but that’s not something I can speak on.

One of the first things I noticed once seated was that everything—from the glasses to the plates to the napkins—was “Regal View” branded. It’s a small detail, but when it’s done well, it does add a bit of that extra polish to the experience.

For around €100 per person, the menu includes three courses and two soft drinks. Cocktails aren’t included (unfortunately), but there is a full cocktail menu if you want to add one on the side (which I did), and I’d definitely recommend it.

The meal starts with a small amuse-bouche, which in our case was a watermelon and coconut dish. Light, fresh, and a really nice way to start the experience.

For the first course, we both went for the bluefin tuna, which was genuinely excellent. One detail I really liked is that all dishes are inspired by Disney movies, so when your plate arrives, you can kind of guess which film it’s referencing. It’s a subtle touch, but it makes the whole experience a bit more fun without feeling gimmicky.

For the main course, I ordered the sea bream, while my partner went for the slow-cooked beef. Both dishes were really flavorful and well-executed, exactly what you’d hope for at this price point.

For dessert, I had the Champagne frozen soufflé, which I had never tried before and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. My partner chose the white chocolate mousse, which was also very good.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t go in with very high expectations based on some of my previous dining experiences at Disneyland Paris (more on that here). But this was a really pleasant surprise. The food was genuinely good and easily one of the better meals I’ve had in the park.

The Disney Princesses – Character Dining

I know that for most people, the main reason to book a restaurant like The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge is the character dining.

I’ll be honest, though…I’m not really a fan. I don’t know what it is, but it always feels a bit awkward to me. At the same time, I’m also not going to be the person who says no, so I do go along with it… it’s just never really been my thing.

That said, I did have a really nice experience last year during breakfast at the Castle Club Lounge at the Disneyland Hotel Paris, where I met Tiana, so I know it can be done well. But after a less great experience at La Table de Lumière the day before, I was a bit hesitant going into this one.

When you book at The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, you’re guaranteed to meet three princesses—and I guess we got lucky, because we ended up meeting four: Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine, and Merida.

I also think part of it is that I don’t have children. If you’re with kids, it’s easy to lean into the experience and let them take the lead, especially if they’re excited about it. That’s obviously not really an option for me, which probably makes it feel more awkward than it actually is.

But I have to say, this experience was genuinely nice and not awkward at all. The princesses come to each table one by one, have a short conversation with you, and then ask if you’d like to take a photo together. It all felt very natural and not forced. I also noticed them signing autograph books for children at other tables.

If anything, this completely changed my perspective on Character Dining. It felt much more relaxed, more personal, and overall just more enjoyable.

The Verdict

I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised by The Regal View Restaurant. The setting is beautiful, the space feels much more open and considered than I expected, and the fact that you’re sitting right by the lake with views over the new area adds a lot to the experience. The food was genuinely good (which, if you’ve dined at Disneyland Paris before, you’ll know isn’t always a given), and the overall experience felt a lot more polished than I anticipated going in.

The food was genuinely good and easily one of the better meals I’ve had in the park. Even the character dining—which I’m usually not the biggest fan of—ended up being a highlight. It felt relaxed, well-paced, and actually enjoyable. That said, it is a €100 per person experience, and once you start adding cocktails, the total adds up quickly. So it’s definitely not something I’d book lightly or do multiple times during a trip.

But if you’re looking to include one more premium dining experience during your stay, or you’re curious about trying a character dining experience in a setting that feels a bit more elevated, I do think this is a strong option to have on your list.

In my opinion, it’s worth it, and if you’re looking to treat yourself to a more premium dining experience during your stay, I’d definitely recommend it.

If you’re curious how this compares to the other premium dining options at Disneyland Paris, I’ve broken that down in a separate comparison where I go into all of them side by side.

I hope this was helpful. If you have any more questions, you can always reach out here or on Instagram, and I’m more than happy to answer any of your questions. Bon Appétit!
