Disneyland Paris Fine Dining: Which Restaurant Is Worth It?

If you’re stressed, it’s fine dining we suggest
— Beauty and the Beast

Sometimes you just want to add a little extra magic to your Disneyland Paris trip. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or simply looking for a special experience, Disneyland Paris surprisingly offers a few high-end dining options. Two can be found inside the Disneyland Hotel, while the third arrived as part of the park’s newest addition, Adventureworld.

After visiting all three on recent trips, I found that they vary quite a bit from one another. One stands out for the food, another for the atmosphere, and another for the overall value. So if you're wondering which restaurant is worth booking, you've come to the right place.

In this guide, I'll compare La Forêt Secrète, La Table de Lumière, and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, covering everything from the food and atmosphere to the Disney magic and overall experience.

Meet the Contenders

Before we dive into the details, here's a quick introduction to each restaurant:

La Forêt Secrète

Located on the top floor of the Disneyland Hotel, La Forêt Secrète is definitely the most upscale dining experience at Disneyland Paris. Created by Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert, the restaurant takes inspiration from Disney stories while offering a fine dining menu that feels very different from anything else at the resort.

What stood out to me most was that, unlike the other two contenders, the focus here is firmly on the food rather than character interactions. It's a restaurant designed for guests looking for a memorable meal, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply want to treat yourself during your trip — castle views included, of course.

If you're looking for the most refined dining experience of the three, this is the restaurant for you.

La Table de Lumière

Located inside the Disneyland Hotel, La Table de Lumière is Disneyland Paris' royal dining experience. Inspired by Beauty and the Beast, the restaurant combines French cuisine with one of the most beautiful dining rooms at Disneyland Paris, complete with chandeliers, and subtle nods to the movie.

What stood out to me most was the focus on the princesses and the theming. From the dining room and rose details to the character interactions throughout the meal, it's a restaurant that fully leans into the Disney fairytale experience.

If you're looking for a dining experience that's all about royal Disney magic, this is the restaurant for you.

The Regal View

Located in Adventure World, The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge is the newest contender on this list. Overlooking World of Frozen, the restaurant combines French and international cuisine with a spacious dining room and views of Disneyland Paris' newest themed area.

What stood out to me most was how relaxed everything felt. Guests are guaranteed to meet three Disney characters during their meal, but instead of seeing princesses in large ball gowns, you'll find them in outfits from their adventures. Combined with the spacious dining room, it manages to feel upscale without feeling overly formal.

If you're looking for a special meal that combines character interactions, and a more relaxed atmosphere, this is the restaurant for you.

Now that you've gotten acquainted with the contenders, let's dive into the details and see which restaurant might be the best fit for you

Which Restaurant Has the Best Atmosphere?

Atmosphere is always a tricky one because I think there's more to it than just the interior. It's about the feeling you get once you're actually sitting down and enjoying the experience.

La Table de Lumière easily has the most impressive dining room of the three. As someone who absolutely loves Beauty and the Beast, I thought the golden details, roses, and grand ballroom were stunning. There's also a lot of natural light, which makes the space feel bright and elegant. That said, the overall atmosphere didn't really work for me. In my experience, everything felt really rushed and I never got the feeling that guests were encouraged to slow down and enjoy the experience. While the restaurant is beautiful, it didn't feel particularly warm or cozy.

The Regal View was almost the complete opposite. The restaurant is much larger than I expected, but the colors, artwork, and overall design made it feel surprisingly inviting. Even though the space is huge, it never felt overwhelming and was probably the restaurant I felt most relaxed in.

La Forêt Secrète was my personal favorite when it came to atmosphere. It genuinely feels like you've discovered a secret restaurant that most guests walk right past. From the moment the doors open, you're guided through an enchanted forest before arriving at the dining room itself. The deep green colors, smaller dining room, and quieter setting make it feel very different from the other two restaurants. While there were still families dining here during my visit, the atmosphere felt noticeably calmer, more intimate, and more luxurious.

For me, La Forêt Secrète takes the win in this category. While La Table de Lumière has the most impressive Disney-themed dining room and The Regal View feels the most inviting, La Forêt Secrète is the restaurant that felt the most special from the moment I walked in.

Which Restaurant Has the Best Food & Drinks?

Food is probably the category where everyone's rankings will look a little different. While these restaurants offer much more than just a meal, you're also spending anywhere from €100 to €200 per person to dine here. At that price point, the food naturally becomes a big part of the overall experience.

Price-wise, La Table de Lumière and The Regal View are fairly similar. Both offer a three-course menu where you can choose from a selection of starters, mains, and desserts, with drinks charged separately. The Regal View costs €100 per person, while La Table de Lumière costs €120 per person. La Forêt Secrète costs slightly more, offering a three-course Discovery Menu for €140 or a five-course menu for €200, excluding drinks.

Starting with La Table de Lumière, this was unfortunately the weakest of the three for me. What I remember most from the meal are the themed touches, like the rose in the cocktail and the Beauty and the Beast dessert topper. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food itself. I found most of the dishes very bland and surprisingly forgettable. Considering the price point, I expected a lot more.

La Forêt Secrète was a bit mixed. The dishes were creative, beautifully presented, and inspired by Disney stories. While everything I tried was nice, I have to admit I expected a little more. Given Jean Imbert's reputation, I was expecting something that would really stand out, but most of the dishes left me thinking, "That was good," rather than, "Wow, that was incredible."

The biggest surprise was The Regal View. Going in, I honestly wasn't expecting much, simply because it's located inside the park rather than the Disneyland Hotel. I couldn't have been more wrong. The food was fresh, flavorful, and easily the most consistently enjoyable of the three. There was also a good selection to choose from and, much like La Forêt Secrète, many of the dishes were inspired by Disney characters and stories, which added a fun touch to the experience.

For me, The Regal View takes the win in this category. It wasn't the restaurant I expected to come out on top, but dish for dish, it delivered the best food of the three.

Which Restaurant Fits Your Group or Occasion Best?

Who you're traveling with can completely change which restaurant makes the most sense. While all three offer a special dining experience, they each cater to a slightly different audience.

If your child is obsessed with Disney princesses, I'd choose La Table de Lumière. There were little girls dressed in princess dresses everywhere, excitedly waiting for the princes and princesses to arrive and showing off their outfits. Out of all three restaurants, this was the one that felt most focused on creating that royal Disney experience. It genuinely felt like many of the children were getting to live out their own fairytale for an evening.

If you're celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or another special occasion as a couple, I'd choose La Forêt Secrète. While there were still children dining there, they tended to be slightly older and the overall atmosphere felt much quieter. I actually visited for my birthday as a surprise from my partner, and as I looked around the room, it seemed like many of the other tables were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries as well. Combined with the intimate dining room, castle views, and slower pace of the evening, it easily felt like the most romantic restaurant of the three.

If you're traveling with a larger family or group of friends, The Regal View is probably your best bet. The restaurant is significantly larger than the other two, with plenty of space between tables and several larger seating areas. There were still princess interactions, autograph opportunities, and lots of photo moments, but the atmosphere felt a little more relaxed overall. It's the restaurant where I felt least worried about being too loud or taking up too much space.

In short, I'd pick La Table de Lumière for princess-loving children, La Forêt Secrète for couples celebrating something special, and The Regal View for larger groups looking for a more relaxed experience.

The Final Verdict

If I were returning to Disneyland Paris tomorrow and simply wanted a nice meal, I’d probably book The Regal View. The food surprised me the most, the atmosphere felt relaxed without being too casual, and I can easily see myself going back for lunch or dinner.

If I were celebrating something special, I’d choose La Forêt Secrète. It’s not necessarily the restaurant I’d book for a casual meal, but for a birthday, anniversary, or romantic dinner, it feels the most memorable.

La Table de Lumière is the only one I personally wouldn’t book again. I completely understand the appeal if you’re visiting with children who love Disney princesses, but for me, the experience didn’t quite work. I explain more about why here.

So my final answer? The Regal View is the one I’d return to for the food, La Forêt Secrète is the one I’d book for a special occasion, and La Table de Lumière is the one I’d only recommend if you want to see it for yourself…

Practical Things to Know Before You Book

Disneyland Paris Champagne

  • If you're staying at one of the Disney Hotels, such as Newport Bay Club or Disneyland Hotel, you can usually book restaurants through the Disneyland Paris app after making your hotel reservation.

  • If you're not staying at a Disney Hotel, reservations typically open three months in advance through the Disneyland Paris website.

  • If you don't see the restaurant you want in the app, reach out to a Cast Member through the chat function on the Disneyland Paris website. This is how I made all of my reservations.

  • La Forêt Secrète currently requires a phone reservation. Don't worry if you don't speak French, the Cast Members I spoke to were happy to help in English.

  • Full payment is required when making your reservation.

  • Don't wait too long to book. All three restaurants are popular and reservations can disappear surprisingly quickly, especially during weekends, school holidays, and busy travel periods.

I hope this comparison helped make your decision a little easier. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message here or on Instagram. I'm always happy to help!
