La Forêt Secrète Review Disneyland Paris

Looking to elevate your evening or celebrate something special after a full day at Disney? Then you’ve probably come across La Forêt Secrète. It’s the newest restaurant at Disneyland Paris, and one that’s clearly meant for moments that go beyond your average park dinner.

La Forêt Secrète opened in 2024 as part of the Disneyland Hotel's reopening and is overseen by French chef Jean Imbert. My partner booked La Forêt Secrète to celebrate my birthday while we were staying at the Castle Club (my full Castle Club review here), which felt like a perfect reason to finally try it. I was curious to see whether it would actually feel different from other Disneyland dining experiences—or if it would mostly come down to setting and expectations.

In this review, I’m sharing my experience dining here, from the atmosphere and food to the location and what you need to know about booking.

Here we go! Let’s determine if dining here is worth it while we cover all aspects, from the location, to the food and the atmosphere:

The Location & How to Book

How to book:

First things first: to get a reservation at La Forêt Secrète, you need to call the restaurant directly. There’s a dedicated phone number for reservations, and you can book in either English or French. When you call, you’ll also be asked to pay a deposit (50 euros) to secure your table.

It’s worth knowing that the restaurant is very small — La Forêt Secrète has space for around 55 guests in total, which explains why reservations can be hard to come by. If this is something you really want to do during your trip, I’d call as soon as your dates are set.

How to get there:

The Disneyland Paris Hotel is, as you might know, a bit of a maze. From 2026 onwards, you can also only enter the hotel if you’re staying there or if you have a restaurant reservation, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.

If you’re staying in one of the Castle Club rooms, La Forêt Secrète is actually very close. It’s located just across from the reception area where you checked in. That said, it’s easy to walk past it if you’re not paying attention (I definitely did.) From the outside, it doesn’t really give much away, but once the doors open, the experience inside feels very different.

If you’re not staying at the Disneyland Hotel, getting there takes a few extra steps. From the main reception, you’ll need to go up the stairs and walk past the gift shop. On the right-hand side, you’ll see the Castle Club entrance. There’s a phone there that you need to pick up to let them know you’ve arrived, and they’ll send the elevator down for you. Once you’re up on the Castle Club floors, the restaurant is right there on the right-hand side when you step out of the elevator.

Inside the Restaurant

Once the doors open, it genuinely feels like stepping into a different space. The hallway outside is quite bright, so it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust, but inside, the mood is completely different. As the name already suggests, the atmosphere really does feel like a secret forest. It’s honestly beautiful, and once you step in, you don’t quite know where to look first.

The interior is mostly green with gold accents. There’s a lot to take in, and that could easily have felt busy, but it doesn’t. Instead, it feels like a space that’s meant to be taken in slowly. The photos don’t really do it justice, especially at night.

The real highlight, though, is the view of the castle. We arrived at 19:00, when it was still light out, but by the time our first course arrived, it was already dark, and the castle was fully lit. That shift alone changes the whole experience. We were seated at the best table in the restaurant. We didn’t request it, so I assume we were lucky—although they did know it was my birthday. Either way, if the view matters to you, I’d recommend booking earlier in the evening to give yourself the best chance of a table at the front.

The overall feel of the restaurant is noticeably calm. The Disney theming is restrained, with no obvious character references or familiar shapes scattered around the room. Everything stays within the forest concept, which makes it feel more grown-up than most other dining options at Disneyland Paris. Even as more tables filled up, the noise level stayed low, and the pacing of the evening felt relaxed. Looking around, there also weren’t many children dining there, which reinforced that this is very much an adult-leaning restaurant.

Once you’re seated, you’re handed a Snow White–themed menu, designed as a small book. The story is printed inside, with illustrations, and the menu itself is part of it. Overall, the theming strikes a balance I didn’t fully expect—luxurious, clearly themed, but still quite subtle and calm compared to the parks.

The Food

At La Forêt Secrète, you can choose between two menus:

  • Discovery menu
    3 courses
    €140 (drinks not included)
With this menu, you can choose between a small selection of dishes for each course.

  • Tasting menu
    5 courses
    €200 (drinks not included)
This is a set menu, with no choices.

You can also add a wine pairing to go with each course.

  • Classique: €75

  • Prestige: €110

  • Champagne: €120

We decided to go with the Discovery menu, mainly because five courses are a lot for me, especially after a full day in the parks. I also liked having some choice. We did add a wine pairing, which is possible with this menu as well.

I’ll start with what I really liked: the theming. Everything is subtle and well-thought-out. There’s no gimmicky Disney presentation here—no Mickey-shaped bread or obvious references on the plate. Visually, it all fits the setting perfectly.

That said, I’m going to be honest about the food itself. It isn’t bad—really, it’s not—but it also isn’t particularly great. Overall, the flavors felt a bit flat, and some dishes didn’t taste as fresh as I’d expected at this price point.

One course that stood out for the wrong reasons was a tuna dish with passion fruit, coconut milk, and a sweet-sour profile. On paper, that sounds like a combination I’d usually love. Tuna and coconut milk can work beautifully—I’ve had versions of it in the Seychelles that were outstanding—but here the balance was off. The acidity of the passion fruit combined with the coconut just didn’t come together, and the flavors clashed rather than complemented each other.

Afterwards, I wasn’t surprised to see that many online reviews mention similar things. The general consensus seems to be: don’t expect high-level cuisine. I’d agree with that. In my opinion, this isn’t fine dining in the traditional sense.

That said, context matters. For theme park dining, this is strong. You’re paying for the setting, the experience, and the fact that you’re having a calm, well-paced meal inside Disneyland Paris. If you judge it purely as a high-end restaurant, it falls short—but if you factor in where you are, it makes more sense.

Side note: I’ve also eaten at Jean Imbert au Plaza Athénée, and I wasn’t particularly impressed by the food there either (same blandness). So it might just be me, and my (personal ) one-sided beef with Jean Imbert.

The Verdict: Is it Worth it?

Overall, I really liked the experience. If you keep in mind that you’re at Disney—and that you’re often paying Disney prices for far less memorable meals—I do think La Forêt Secrète is worth doing at least once. The staff are incredibly friendly, the theming is beautifully done without being over the top, and the views of the castle are genuinely spectacular. If you time it right and stay long enough, you can even watch the fireworks from inside the restaurant, which adds another layer to the evening.

What also makes a difference is how quiet it feels. Because it’s such a tucked-away part of the hotel, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed, which is honestly a relief after a full, overstimulating day in the parks. It’s a really nice way to slow things down and properly enjoy the evening.

That said, expectations around the food do need to be adjusted. It isn’t bad—but it isn’t great either. For the price point, I expected something more elevated, and I don’t think the size of the restaurant is a valid excuse here. With only 55 seats in total, this isn’t a high-volume operation. The food simply doesn’t reach the level you might expect based on the setting and cost.

Still, taken as a whole, I do think La Forêt Secrète is worth visiting once—especially if you’re celebrating something special and are looking for a more magical, grown-up Disney experience. Just go for the atmosphere, the setting, and the moment, rather than expecting standout cuisine.

I hope this was helpful. If you have any more questions, you can always reach out here or on Instagram, and I’m more than happy to answer any of your questions. Bon Appetit!
